Tour Itinerary Details (09 Nights/10 Days)

Day 1: Haridwar/Dehradun - Barkot | (220 kms/6-7 hrs)

After morning breakfast, drive to Barkot. Upon arrival in Barkot, check in at the hotel & rest of the time for relaxation. Dinner & overnight stay in the hotel in Barkot.

En route - You can Visit Mussoorie 

Day 2: Barkot - Janaki Chatti - Yamunotri - Janaki Chatti - Barkot (45 kms/1.5-2 hrs each side)

After breakfast at Hotel. drive to Jankichatti from where the trek to Yamunotri (6kms) starts. You can  go by walk or by horse or by Doli at own cost. 

Upon arrival at Yamunotri, One can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the hot kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as "Prasad". 

Near the temple "Puja" can be offered to DivyaShila, after taking bath in Jamunabai Kund's warm water and having "Darshan" of pious "Yamunaji". After Darshan return to Jankichatti and drive back to Barkot. Overnight stay at Hotel. 

Yamunotri Temple: Maharani Gularia of Jaipur built the temple in the 19th Century. It was destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again.

Day 3: Barkot - Uttarkashi (100 kms/4 hrs).

After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi. Upon arrival, check in to a hotel. In evening, visit Vishwanath Temple. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi.

Uttarkashi: Situated at the bank of river Bhagirathi, the temple of Lord Vishwanath is where a massive iron trident is erected.

Day 4: Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi (100 kms/3-4 hrs each side)

After breakfast proceed to Gangotri (3048 mts). After Gangotri Darshan, return to Uttarkashi and overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

En route - you will enjoy picturesque Harsil village, Bhagirathi River and the most magnificent view of the Himalayas. 

Gangotri Temple: The temple was constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th Century, is situated on the right bank of Bhagirathi.

Submerged Shivling: Submerged in the river, this natural rock Shivling is the place where, according to mythology, Lord Shiva sat when he received the Ganga in his matted lock. It is visible in winter months when water level decreases. 

Kedar Ganga Sangam: Around 100 Yards from the Ganga Temple flows the river Kedar Ganga. Starting from the Kedar Valley, this river meets the Bhagirathi on its left bank.

Day 5: Uttarkashi - Guptkashi (208 kms/8-9 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Guptkashi. Upon arrival in Guptkashi, check in to a hotel & rest of the dayfor relaxation. Dinner & overnight stay in the hotel in Guptkashi. 

En route - you can visit Vishwanath Temple of Guptkashi, Dhari Devi Temple, Sangam at Rudraprayag (Alaknanda and Mandakani)

Day 6: Guptkashi - Sonprayag - Gaurikand - Kedarnath (20 kms by road/1.5 hrs & 15 km trek)

After breakfast drive to Sonprayag. From Sonprayag, Local shuttles and Jeep are available to take you higher to Gaurikund which is 5 kms from this point. Gaurikand is where the Trek/Pony/Doli starts to Kedarnath (3584 mts). Visit Kedarnath Temple in Full moon night and night halt in Kedarnath.

Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer.

According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed, he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as PanchKedar.

Day 7: Kedarnath - Gaurikand - Sonprayag - Guptkashi (18 kms down Trek & 20 kms/1.5 hrs by Road)

Early morning, after Temple Darshan, trek down to Gaurikund. Drive to Guptkashi, after check in to a Hotel, night halt in Guptkashi

Day 08: Guptkashi - Badrinath (195 kms/6-6.5 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Badrinath. Overnight stay in Badrinath.

En route - you will see some of the mesmerizing views:

  • Badrinath: One of the 'Four Dhams' and one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name "Badri van", meaning "forest of berries".
  • TaptKund: Natural thermal springs on the bank of the river Alaknanda, where it is customary to bathe before entering the Badrinath temple.
  • NaradKund: A recess in the river, near TaptKund, forming a pool from where the Badrinath idol was recovered.
  • Brahama Kapal: A flat platform on the bank of river Alaknanda. Hindus perform propitiating rites for their deceased ancestors.
  • Mana Village: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet.
  • BhimPul: On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge lies over the roaring Saraswati River. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the year.

Day 09: Badrinath - Rudraprayag (151 kms/4.5 hrs)

After breakfast. proceed to Rudraprayag. In evening visit Dhari devi temple and overnight stay.

En route -  Visit, Nandprayag, Karnaprayag. 

Day 10: Rudraprayag - Rishikesh - Haridwar (157 kms/4.5 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh. In Rishikesh, visit Ram jhula, Laxman jhula, Parmarth niketan.  Later proceed to Haridwar. In evening, attend Ganga Arti at har ki pauri.
